There are two mechanisms through which breathable membrane works :
1. Microporous membranes (PE, PIFE. Some of TPU)
2. Hydrophillic Membranes (TPU)
Microporous membranes : In this type of membranes the size of pores on membranes are of size which is much lower than water molecules but are large enough to pass a water vapor molecule through it. Hence making it “waterproof & Breathable”. Moreover these membranes are not wind-proof (not suitable for high altitude fabrics ) and air can pass through the pores and making it more comfortable for wearer. These type of membranes are usually used for millitary uniforms, fire fighting garments, medical & surgical disosable, etc.
Hydrophillic Membranes : Especially used for sports wear hydrophillic- TPU membranes are used widely due to it’s soft feel & very high moisture wicking rate. These membranes being hydrophillic in nature the molecules of membranes are water loving hence they absorb the sweat from the skin of athletes 7 transfer it to outer atmosphere. It works on the absorption & desorption mechanism i.e. hydrophillic molecule on the surface of membrane absorbs the water (sweat) from skin ans transfer it to outer atmosphere. The rate of wicking mainly depends upon the humidity gradient between outer & inner atmosphere & the density of hydrophillic groups present per sq. inch of membranes. So higher the thickness of membranes. so higher the thickness of membrane higher the wicking rate.
Sampling : For sampling purpose minimum 15 mtrs fabric in full width is required. All sampling work is done on chargeble basis.

- The drape, feel, and softness is maintained after lamination.
- The breathable lamination is washable, strechable and can withstand molding at elevated temprature and pressure.
Bonded fabrics for reversible jackets
Two different fabrics having different characteristics are bound together with PUR adhesive which so far is the best adhesive for textile lamination. In this case, fashionable denim cloth has been laminated and used with warmth imparting micro polyester polar fleece for making a fashionable jacket which is perfectly suitable for cold climate.

Bonded fabrics for reversible jackets : Raw materials required are : Denim; Micro polyester single side brushed (antipilling) Polar fleece and Reactive polyurethane adhesive (PUR). The bonded fabric is washable soft and has moisture wicking inner surface, good insulation properties and ideal drape for making jackets.
Fibro Laminates has expertise in laminating any two fabrics together as per the customers’ requirement ensuring washing fastness without hampering the feel. For example: denim laminated to corduroy fabric, plain woven fabric laminated to checks fabric, woven fabric laminated to suede fabric, coudroy fabric laminted to a fur fabric (for cold regions).
