“Gujarat textile sector will regain glory” – Mr Sahu, Govt of Gujarat

“The Gujarat textile industry is going though a cyclical phase, which is the main reason for the textile industry in Gujarat falling behind other states in textile output, said, Mr Maheshwar Sahu – IAS and Principal Secretary (Industries & Mines) – Govt. of Gujarat.

Alongside, new generation powerlooms are also being setup. I am confident that this will help Gujarat, regains its glory on the textile map of India”.

Informing about the status of a proposal from a Chinese textile machinery manufacturer – China Texmatch to set up a plant in Gujarat, he revealed, “China Texmatch has not yet decided the location, however, it is seriously looking at Gujarat to set up the plant”.

“The Gujarat government is seriously contemplating setting up spinning textile parks to ensure that the cotton grown in the state is processed in the state itself, rather than sending it to southern states for spinning and getting the same yarn back in Gujarat to weave fabrics”, he revealed.
