The AEI TEXTILS co – organized the second webinar of Galactica , which coordinates project. This was the second of ten webinars organized by the project to generate both technical and commercial discussions involving the textile, aerospace and advanced manufacturing sectors.
This series of weekly webinars aims to establish synergies between the different sectors involved in Galactica with a view to the first call for proposals that will be launched in March 2021 with a budget of 1.2 million euros to support European SMEs.
During the webinar, AEI Tèxtils made an introduction to the Galactica project and moderated the debate between the three professors from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) in Terrassa, the only institution in Spain that offers the three degrees in Textile Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering and Industrial engineering.
Professors Rita Planas, Mónica Ardanuy and Miquel Sureda , all of them from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia , representing the three departments (Industrial, Textile and Aerospace Engineering), presented the different technologies of Industry 4.0, the use of textile materials in aerospace applications and the main trends in the aerospace and aeronautical sectors in terms of materials and innovation, with an example of the needs of a Martian city.
The webinar was a great success, with more than 40 participants and is available in the repository web of Galactica along with previous webinars.
The inscriptions for the next webinars are open on the web Galactica , including the agenda and a detailed description. The next webinars include topics such as the necessary certifications for textile products in the aerospace, technology transfer from the aerospace industry to the textile sector, methodologies co-creation, how to make a pich, sustainability, intellectual property strategies and examples of combined projects.
Next March 24 will take place the first matchmaking of Galactica , in which the first call for financial support endowed with 1.2 M € will be presented to support SMEs. Attendees will be able to hold B2B meetings to identify potential partners to request financial support to develop innovative projects in the lines: Pioneer Acceleration and Orbital Projects.
