AEI Tèxtils Organizes a Webinar on Green Transition for a more Sustainable Textile Industry

For a more sustainable textile industry

The AEI Tèxtils , the cluster of advanced textile materials of Catalonia, organizes, on April 28 , a new session of the series of practical and interactive conferences For a more sustainable textile industry .

The first edition took place in February 2019, co-organized with ACCIÓ . The main points of discussion were the challenges in the substitution of hazardous substances in textile finishing products. The report of the session is available here .

The second edition , also co-organized with ACCIÓ , was in virtual format and the focus was broadened with actions and practical cases of circular economy applied to the advanced textile materials sector, led by Catalan companies, as well as the presentation of the different actions of the cluster and ACCIÓ in this area. The recording of the webinar is available here .

In this third edition , the main theme will be the green transition directly linked to the EU guidelines that propose a greener and more sustainable way out of the COVID-19 crisis. The textile sector is one of the priority sectors in the Green Pact and in the industrial strategy of the European Union.

The AEI TEXTILS present the initiatives carried out and support mechanisms to promote the green transition by promoting sustainability and circular economy in the sector of advanced textile materials , based on the four pillars of the strategy of the cluster: innovation, internationalization, skills and business development together with networking as the central point of the strategy.

The webinar will also feature a small group work session to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the green transition in the sector.

The AEI TEXTILS has 7 years of experience promoting sustainability in the sector of advanced textile materials, starting in 2015, the first project to promote the replacement of hazardous chemicals in textile finishing processes, MIDWOR-LIFE .
