GALACTICA organized the Info day to present the insights of the first Call for proposals, with a total budget of 1.2 M€ to support European SMEs, in the frame of the 1st Matchmaking event. The Matchmaking event brought together SMEs from user sectors (Textile and Aerospace) and advanced manufacturing technology provider companies from 22 European countries.
GALACTICA’s INFO DAY EVENT
The GALACTICA team organized the info-day for the first call for proposals with presentations about the GALACTICA project, the call details, the submission procedure and the evaluation information. This info-day session also included a question-and-answer session moderated by the project coordinator (AEI Tèxtils) and the participation of the call leaders (CTA and CORALLIA).
The session also included the pitch from the company category winner of GALACTICA’s 1st hackathon, FUREHO, as success story in the cross-sectoral collaboration and innovation.
The session was followed by more than 70 participants from several European countries.

1st Matchmaking event of GALACTICA
In parallel to the info-day, GALACTICA also organized its first matchmaking session, where SMEs were able to find potential partners to apply together in the call for proposals, find technologies and meet potential technology providers. This is a relevant opportunity for SMEs to jointly promote innovative solutions thus creating new cross-sectoral and cross-border industrial value chains.
146 participants are already registered and 112 B2B meetings have already taken place.
This virtual matchmaking platform will remain open for the duration of GALACTICA as the virtual community platform. B2B meetings and networking opportunities aim to promote the awareness raising of the different GALACTICA sectors needs and to generate cross sectoral and cross-border collaborations among participants.
The development of new industrial value chains is crucial to increase the competitiveness of textile and aerospace industries. GALACTICA project aims to upgrade and transform the industrial manufacturing value chains using advanced manufacturing as a cornerstone for the European textile and aeronautics sectors, allowing them to unlock their full potential through new cross-sectorial applications and value-chains.
GALACTICA’s 1st call for proposals:
GALACTICA has launched the first Call for proposals with a total budget of 1.2 M€ to support cross-sectorial innovative between textile, aerospace and advanced manufacturing.
GALACTICA has two funding schemes open to SMEs established in EU27 or UK:
Pioneer Acceleration will support the exploration of new cross-sectoral value chains with focus on developing a Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
Orbital Projects aims to support the demonstration of new cross-sectoral value chains connecting the different sectors of GALACTICA with initial market tests of the products and services developed.
The proposal submission is open until 17h CEST of May 19th 2021. Submission must be sent through the online platform.
