MFB announces the finalists of the National Swimwear New Talents Fashion Spain 2021 Award

Once again, the urban beaches of Benidorm, and other characteristic locations of the city, will serve as a backdrop for the realization of the eight audiovisual productions that will give rise to the Fashion Films of the finalist collections of the National Fashion Bath New Talent Award , which celebrates this 2021 its IV Edition.

“For a more sustainable and environmentally friendly fashion, the participating fashion designers have worked very well on their projects to attract the attention of the technical evaluation committee, which, coordinated by ModaEspaña , has analyzed the collections submitted to the competition and that, one Once again, it has not been easy at all, especially when they have had to review many more proposals than in the previous edition ” , underline its organizers.

In the statement issued by the organization, the most significant data of the IV call has been released, in which 361 designers from 17 autonomous communities were registered , which presented 79 proposals, evaluating 640 designs.

As stated by the same, “this year, despite the pandemic, which since 2020 has been making things very difficult, has managed to improve participation and papers presented, which is a very important boost in order to continue to consolidate as the most important Fashion and Tourism project in the national sphere. A platform that serves as a support and opportunity tool for the best-trained young fashion designers in Spain ”.

Among the data offered with respect to the previous year, the average age of the participants stands out, which is established at 26 years with an increase in participation of 12%; It is also relevant that more than 38% are students in the 3rd or 4th year of the degree, or that the percentage of graduates in fashion is around 21%.

“The work carried out by the different Teaching Centers of our country is valued, which increasingly teach specific modules of swimwear and lingerie as a stimulus to the great potential that our peninsula has in Sun and Beach Tourism and where creativity Made in Spain is more than manifested in our extensive coastline ” , they add.

In this case, the following young fashion designers have been chosen :

Clara Humanes Offer

Mª Carmen Barcelona Lebrato

Ana Muñoz Palma

Estefanía Martín Rodríguez

Mireia González Gato

To these six designers we must add the two designers who were previously finalists and who, by force majeure, were placed for this IV Edition: David Martí Blasco and Andrea Fortuny Viñoles.

Finally, the statement also includes an advance on the activities planned from this moment in which it is highlighted that “during the next few months, until mid-May, the chosen designers will make the garments of each collection so that once they have been reviewed, and Taking advantage of the best window of time that is presented, to be able to record in person the audiovisuals of the same as an alternative to the catwalk and that, a posteriori, on a date and place to be confirmed, to be able to evaluate them by a qualifying jury designated for this purpose, to that through the images and additional documentation they can award a Main Prize and two Second Prize ”. As happened last year, a Special Eco Bath Sustainability Award will be awarded .

Although the possibility of presenting the work on a catwalk is not definitively ruled out, “something that is not contemplated at the moment” , if it is pointed out that the National Prize for Bathing Fashion will have a presence in the next edition of the Madrid International Fashion Fair , Momad , expected if everything evolves favorably for next September at IFEMA . From now on, the operation of the next phase begins to be able to comply with the itinerary foreseen in this IV edition of 2021.
