February 11-14 in Moscow, at VDNH, the most significant and large-scale event of the year in textile and light industry was held – the 54th Federal Trade Fair Textillegprom. The organizers of the Fair presented to the public an exhibition with an area of more than 23,000 square meters and an ambitious business program.

Among the new events of the Textillegprom business program, it is worth noting an innovative event – Hackathon Legprom, a meeting with the # 1 online retailer in Russia – Wildberries, which made a splash, and the long-awaited premiere of the latest sublimation printers from Epson. We will tell you more about these and other events.

On the first day of the Fair, the 2nd Practical Conference on Labeling of Textile and Light Industry Products was held. The topic is very relevant due to the fact that the mandatory labeling of finished products of light industry comes into effect in less than a year – January 1, 2021.

The Conference raised the most basic issues regarding labeling. Why is it needed, why is it so important to immediately learn to work with it correctly and how to avoid the typical mistakes of beginners. The speakers gave practical advices that can facilitate the implementation of the marking process for enterprises, for example, you need to transfer your business to electronic document management, to use the maximum product characteristics on the marking layout, and to use thermal printers to print labels. The speakers announced an approximate procedure for manufacturers and importers who are just starting to work with labeling.

Much has been said about software and the introduction of marking in the enterprise system for further comfortable coexistence of the marking process and 1C. Labeling technical solutions were presented – barcode scanners, data collection terminals and label printers with DataMatrix code.

As mentioned earlier, a loud premiere of the latest sublimation printers from Epson was held at the Textillegprom Fair. The event was moderated by one of the leading experts in the textile printing market – Andrey Vasiliev (World Printing Systems). Representatives of Epson in the CIS and representatives of Textile and Technology Company acted as speakers. Printers for light industry – one of the most important business segments of the Japanese multinational corporation Epson. Presenting the new SC-F6300 and SC-F500 printers to the Fair participants, representatives of the manufacturer and speakers presented the advantages of working with these printers, their functionality, what category of business they are oriented to, and, of course, showed how the printers work on practice.

Within the frame of the Textillegprom Business Program, another grandiose event was held – a practical seminar from Wildberries on the topic of business development in e-commerce. The event was a huge success; it is worth noting that Wildberries holds an event at Textillegprom for the first time.

The Seminar was moderated by Nikolay Gabelia, Project Manager of the Wildberries E-Commerce Expertise Center. He talked about the benefits and opportunities in working with Wildberries and explained how to start working with the company. Wildberries is an international online hypermarket of a universal format with products of partner companies, the Wildberries range includes over 3.6 million products from 30,000 Russian and foreign brands, the audience reach exceeds 25 million customers.

Nikolay Gabelia gave some important tips for successful work on the web-portal. In general, the Wildberries platform is a very convenient sales tool for entrepreneurs. The company takes care of its partners, contributing in every way to their success, provides them with constant assistance and support at all stages of work.

It is worth noting two more events of the business program that have become traditional, but invariably arouse great interest of a professional audience: a seminar on working with retail chains from the Khoroshiy Vybor Company (Good Choice Company) and a practical seminar on working with the ALIBABA.COM platform.

At the first seminar, representatives of the Khoroshiy Vybor Chain Stores presented their company and talked about the advantages of working with them. Khoroshiy Vybor is looking for the best products of federal manufacturers for the regions and brings to the wide market unique or regional products that are in high demand in a particular region. Khoroshiy Vybor centralizes competencies, reduces costs in the regional offices of its network, creates its own logistics infrastructure with a common it-platform, whereby it forms a real competitive force in the Russian market. Cooperating with Khoroshiy Vybor Chain Stores, an entrepreneur will protect himself from excessive competition and will receive many opportunities for business expanding.

At a practical seminar on cooperation with the Alibaba.com platform, the company representative Dmitry Haskell talked about what the platform is and the benefits of working with it. Alibaba.com is an international B2B platform for communication between suppliers and customers, which opens up new opportunities for Russian producers to increase sales of products. Perhaps one of the main advantages of working with this company is wholesale orders for the supply of goods. The seminar contained a large practical part – cases of real Russian companies that have been using this trading tool for more than a year have been analyzed in detail.

Russian manufacturers are very concerned about standardization and certification of products. A seminar entitled “Regulatory Guillotine: Problems and Discussions” was held on this topic. The seminar was organized by the leading branch institute of the country – IRPC TLI (Innovative Research and Production Center of Textile and Light Industry). The deputy head of Roskachestvo and the general director of the IRPC TLI – E.A. Sarattseva outlined the main goals: improving of state regulation in the field of standardization, terms shortening in the development and adoption of standardization documents, updating of the Federal Information Fund of Standards. The seminar discussed issues of quality improving and updating of the fund of national standards.

In addition to the ambitious business program for exhibitors and visitors, another large-scale event was organized – Hackathon Legprom.

Hackathon is a short, dynamic and eventful project-oriented competition, designed to stimulate the introduction of new ideas from participants and even to bring them to implementation directly at the event venue. The Hackathon Legprom is a marathon when 100 specialists from various fields (programmers, designers, analysts, technologists, economists, etc.) worked together to solve cases of the real sector presented by the partners of the event.

The organizers of the Hackathon Legprom were Textilexpo JSC and the RSU named after Kosygin. Representatives of Russian textile and light industry companies, startups, students of the Russian State University named after A.N. Kosygin and students of structural units of the University (colleges and gymnasiums) took part.

The partners of the Hackathon who offered cases to its participants for the solution were the following companies: Reutovskaya Manufaktura LLC, Ves’ Mir Nonwoven Fabric Factory, SportTex Group of Companies, Textilexpo JSC, trademarks: KAZANOV.A. and MONA LIZA (Monolit).

Hackathon participants designed innovative products, offered solutions for the manufacture and testing of products using non-woven fabrics, calculated the economic efficiency of new products, developed prints for textiles, created websites and mobile applications, and formed marketing strategies.

On February 13, the design review of the Hackathon Legprom projects took place. Proving that their designs are worthy of victory, each team presented the jury with its own case solutions. After the presentation of the projects, the jury, which included representatives of mentoring companies and industry experts, determined the best team in each case. The organizers divided equally between the winners the prize fund of the Hackathon, which amounted to 200,000 rubles.

All participants of the Hackathon Legprom were able to solve the urgent tasks that light industry enterprises set today and to show their views on the proposed problems. The joint work of Russian companies with a new generation of industry experts made it possible to find innovative approaches to obtaining innovative products not only in the manufacturing sector, but also in the field of technology and promotion, which enterprises can apply in the future.

The 54th Fair Textillegprom, as expected, attracted the attention of literally all experts in the textile and light industry. More than 22,000 visitors from 77 regions of Russia, 23 countries of Europe and Asia, visited the exposition and events of the Fair for 4 days, exchanged experiences with colleagues and found new suppliers, customers and partners.

September 15-18, 2020, the 75th VDNH pavilion will open again its doors to the 55th Textillegprom Fair. The exhibition and business program promise to be much more interesting and eventful.
