UK Companies Offer Designer Face masks as it will be compulsory for shoppers in England from July 24

Face masks will be compulsory in UK inside shops and supermarkets from Friday 24 July. However, children under the age of 11, and those with a disability that impacts their ability to wear or remove a mask, are exempt from the new coronavirus protection law. The government has stated that shop workers do not have to wear a mask under the law, however companies should consider recommending them where appropriate.

The UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT) has been encouraging their members to publicize their products on it’s website. 

UKFT has featured a selection of businesses from it’s members that offer Face masks: ready-to-wear or available in your own brand designs. Plus find face mask fabrics with antiviral finishes, as well as production for bespoke or larger projects. These are listed below:

Kalopsia Collective is currently selling a variety of face barrier masks, both to consumers, the industry as well as to and in clients’ fabrics.

The 3-layered masks are £6 each for the consumer or £5 for our clients in their fabrics.

Celtic & Co
(READY TO WEAR)

Celtic & Co face mask

Celtic & Co is offering knitted face masks in packs of two and treated with an anti-microbial solution which is effective against Covid-19 and lasts for at least 30 washes. The masks are made in the UK.

A seamless design, stretchy material and fluid repellent finish makes them comfortable to wear for long periods. The masks are reusable, machine washable and can be tumble dried.

All profits will be donated to Newquay Foodbank. Foodbanks receive no government support but are relied upon by increasing numbers of families, especially over the time of this epidemic. Newquay Foodbank is an independent community organisation close to Celtic & Co that has donated over 1500 parcels to those in need over the last year.

Simon Carter

Simon Carter face masks

Simon Carter has two different mask packs available in the brand’s shops and online. Each pack contains 3 masks and retails for £20. As with all Simon Carter products, they bring a bit of beauty, humour and design flair to this protective and soon to be essential item. The masks are:

  • Reusable up to 30 gentle washes
  • Have melt blown protection
  • The masks have N9 anti microbial finish which is a silver infusion in the fabric which renders anti microbial properties
  • 95% bacteria filtration efficiency
  • Dust protective
  • Made from breathable fabric – 100% cotton both outside and the inner layer

Due to the huge success of the Simon Carter branded masks, the company is also looking at developing bespoke mask packs for some of our private label customers. Begg & Co

Begg & Co’s in-house team of experts are currently manufacturing 100% cashmere luxury face coverings which have recently featured in GQ, The Telegraph, Frank Magazine and The Daily Telegraph. The company wanted to be able to create a sustainable, machine washable, and luxury alternative for its customers.

Pincroft Dyeing and Printing has successfully manufactured and treated various qualities of snood and face mask fabrics with antiviral finishes and have manufactured the finished snood and face mask from initial concept. Pincroft can produce various styles and have the ability to offer design and prototyping prior to production. HotSquash is making masks in its London, SMETA approved, factory.

The prints match many of HotSquash’s garment designs so they can be worn together as a matching outfit, they’re also reversible, so can be worn with the plain side showing as well. The brand is offering adults and childrens’ masks, sold singularly and also in packs of four.
