Valmont Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week launches its digital edition with 24 fashion shows and almost 100 brands

Between now and next September 22, about 100 firms, 64% international, participate in VBBFW 2020 , the event organized by Fira de Barcelona that today launches a new digital format with the aim of ratifying its role as a meeting point and engine business of the bridal industry in the world.

The retransmission of the shows can be viewed through the VBBFW App , the digital platform designed with the collaboration of La Fura dels Baus that will allow future brides and fashion lovers from all over the world to see the latest collections and also , will facilitate connections between companies and professionals in the bridal industry globally.

The show, which has the support of the Department of Business and Knowledge of the Generalitat de Catalunya, makes the App available to professionals where they can view the content and connect with the nearly 100 brands , more than half international, that participate in the VBBFW trade show from any device (mobile, pc, tablet) or follow the parades that will take place in an immersive setting, carried out with the collaboration of the theater company specialized in performing arts La Fura dels Baus .

Runway

24 firms will participate in the catwalk: Pronovias and other brands from its group such as Nicole Milano and House of St. Patrick: Jesús Peiró; Yolancris; Sophie et Voilà; Isabel Sanchis or Higar Novias. Various international brands will also present their collections , such as the Korean Vestal; The Atelier, the Malaysian firm led by Jimmy Choo; Flora, from Israel; the French Cymbeline; the US firms Demetrios and Yumi Katsura; Marylise & Rembo Styling, from Belgium, and the Italians Valentini, Bellantuono and Amelia Casablanca, as well as the ‘new talent’ Lorena Panea, Olga Macià, Léonie Bridal and Poesie Sposa.

In addition, VBBFW launches new formats such as that of the Italian firm Antonio Riva which, exclusively for this event, will open the doors of its ‘maison’ and present the novelties of its world and its new collection Étoile 2021.

Parades

All the shows will be open to the public through the salon App so that future brides and fashionistas from around the world can enjoy the latest trends through their mobile or tablet from a new virtual ‘front row’ .

The platform will also host the trade show, an exclusive digital showroom for professionals , which will host the proposals of the brands on the catwalk to add up to a hundred in total, 64% international, such as Watters (USA), Atelier Emelia (France ), Ersa Atelier (Romania), Talbot Runhof (Germany), Madi Lane (Australia), Gali Karten (Israel), Petrelli Uomo (Italy), or the Spanish Marco & María, Serena Whitehaven, Ramón Sanjurjo, Inuñez, Sedomir Rodríguez de la Sierra, Pol Nuñez or María Barragán, among many others.

Beyond fashion

The show will also present different activities organized with the collaboration of national and international companies or entities , such as the NGO Save The Children in carrying out its project “Stop child marriage” against child marriage. The program, which is being carried out in Sierra Leone, aims to empower girls by promoting their schooling and entry into the world of work. The challenge consists of raising 50,000 euros through donations that can already be made through a link available on the web and in the VBBFW App.

On the other hand, in accordance with its vocation as a center for the dissemination of content of sectoral interest, VBBFW will present the study that Professor José Luis Nueno (IESE Business School) has prepared for the show, “Bridal Fashion, Sustainable Style, Conscientious Business” , in which he analyzes the future challenges of the sector in a post-covid environment and the role of sustainability as one of the keys to the development of the industry.

The App will also include a space dedicated to the fusion of art and beauty that the high-end cosmetics firm Valmont offers to future brides and lovers of the art world.

All these activities and also others, carried out in collaboration with the Design Institute of Spain, Wedding Media International, or the Istituto Europeo di Design, IED, can be followed from today on demand through the App of the show, except the ceremony of delivery of the Elle International Bridal Awards, the awards that recognize excellence in the bridal world in different categories.
