TEXPROCIL at Textile Expo Uzbekistan 2011

More than 40 Companies Participated from 11 Countries

Textile Expo Uzbekistan 2011, which opened in Tashkent on November 16, brought together more than 40 major companies from 11 countries: Belarus, China, France, Germany, India, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Turkey and Uzbekistan.

This year’s slogan of Textile Expo Uzbekistan was “The Best Uzbek Textiles – Successful Textile Competition from China and Turkey”. Production of Uzbekistan is becoming more popular in international textile business, and provides competitive goods. Its exports to foreign countries is increasing and the products of Uzbek textiles can be seen on such networks as C&A, Wal Mart, Quelle & others.

Local companies showcased wide range of high-quality textile products. Ready-made garment and knitted items were presented at the event by such local companies as Nona Textile Import Export, Kaloramatex/Besharyktekstil, BF Textile Produ-ktion, Elnur and Ruslan Textile and Alkim Textile, JV Uztex Chirchik, Uztext Tashkent, Alfi Textil and Gul-Ren-Teks. Joint ventures Toshkaya-tekstil and Idorama Kokand Textile demonstrated yarn of own production; chemicals and dyes were presented by Guner Tash Co., and foreign company Super Roll exhibited technical equipment for the textile industry.

In a short time the textile industry of Uzbekistan has occupied a strong position in the global market. It is a result of ongoing reforms in the industry and government support. Encouragement of deeper processing of cotton fiber and the organization of production of modern competitive textile products have caused greater activity of domestic companies.

Exemption from property tax for the textile industry enterprises that sell more than 80% for hard currency of their products has been extended to 2016, including semi-finished products like yarn, fabrics and cotton waste.

By the end of 2015 the enterprises of O’zbekyengilsanoat can purchase the same products for hard currency on the domestic market at prices not lower than in the world, provided that at least 80 percent of production will be exported. Also exemption from payment of import customs duties on imported chemicals, dyes, furniture, accessories, and other support materials are not produced in the country has been extended.

Textile manufacturers show great interest to expand business cooperation with Uzbek partners. Specialists of Didier Parakian (France) with samples of women’s clothing, Dilo Sistems Gmbh/Dilo Group (Germany) and Benex (Turkey) with textile machinery and spare parts for nonwoven production came to the exhibition.

Fabrics for workwear, uniforms, technical textiles, as well as wool and wool blend fabrics were presented by such companies as Mogotex and Kamvol (Belarus), SCTS group (Russian Federation). Yarns, threads and various fabrics were brought from India by the company Le Merite Exports Pvt.Ltd, and from Kazakhstan by South Textiline KZ. Also at the exhibition Textile Expo Uzbekistan presented foreign embroidered fabrics and textile art appliqué, sewing accessories, knitting machinery, textile chemistry and synthetic fibers.

One of the most important newcomers of the exhibition is the Council for Development of textile exports of cotton (TEXPROCIL – India). As stressed by the representative of the Indian Embassy in Uzbekistan, India, has accumulated vast experience in the production of cotton fabrics as well as a variety of finished textile products. Important is the fact that India has become one of the first countries that started to produce cotton yarn and fabrics in industrial scale. Today, relations between India and Uzbekistan, a qualitatively new level, including in the field of textile products.

A distinctive feature of this year’s exhibition Textile Expo Uzbekistan was that Buyer program to increase the number of participants, professionals from all over the world was launched for the first time. This program yielded positive results and purchasing companies of India, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries showed interest to the Uzbekistan’s products and services and in developing business partnerships.

Official support was provided by the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of Uzbekistan, State Joint Stock Company O’zbekyengilsanoat, Association of fashion designers of Uzbekistan Osie Ramzi, SCO Secretariat, Tashkent city administration and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbeki-stan.
