
Mr. Birendranath (Biren) Bandyopadhyay, a revered figure as a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, a Chartered Engineer, and an alumnus of IIT Delhi, IIM Lucknow, and Calcutta University, currently serving as Executive Director at Orbit Exports Limited, recently delivered a key address titled “Future of Technical Textiles.” The address was presented at an event jointly organized by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SGCCI) and the Global Fabric Resource & Research Centre (GFRRC). The esteemed audience comprised a mix of nascent and established entrepreneurs and professionals, along with prominent industry leaders including Shri Nikhil Madrasi, Shri Ashish Gujarati, Shri Girdhargopal Mundra, Shri Randra Chokhawala, Shri Ashok Jirawala, and Shri Amrish Bhatt.

Mr. Bandyopadhyay expressed his appreciation for the profound enthusiasm and interest demonstrated by both industry veterans and younger participants concerning the topic. He also provided insightful responses to inquiries posed by emerging entrepreneurs. A central tenet of his discourse was the assertion that India’s technical textiles sector cannot achieve its full potential without substantial participation from Surat. He underscored the imperative to inspire local investors to surmount psychological barriers and prevalent misconceptions regarding technical textiles, positing that such activation would normalize business operations within the sector.
Furthermore, Mr. Bandyopadhyay affirmed his willingness to provide ethical and comprehensive guidance to interested and prospective entrepreneurs, aiming to catalyze the creation of high-quality employment opportunities and facilitate exports worth billions of dollars.
