As on 31st July, 2022, the number of companies registered under the Companies Act was 23,82,078. Of these, 8,48,679 companies were closed, 7,047 companies were under liquidation, 28,790 companies are in the process of striking-off from the register and 2,448 companies have so far obtained the “dormant” status according to Section 455 of the Companies Act, 2013. There are 14,95,114 active companies, including 2,62,138 companies, which were incorporated within the preceding eighteen months (not due for Annual Statutory Filings).
A total of 15,404 companies, including 853 One Person Companies (OPCs), were registered under the Companies Act, 2013 during July 2022 with the authorized capital of Rs. 2,294.67 Crore.
