AITEX Launches Eighth Edition of Prestigious Business Awards with €100,000 Prize Fund to Drive Textile, Cosmetic, and Entrepreneurial Innovation
ALCOY, SPAIN — AITEX, the leading international Research and Innovation Center, has officially announced the launch of the eighth edition of its highly anticipated AITEX Business Awards. This annual initiative has firmly established itself as a premier national benchmark for recognizing, highlighting, and rewarding business excellence, sustainability, and technological advancement. By organizing these awards, AITEX underscores its unwavering commitment to fostering institutional development and strengthening the competitive fabric of the private sector, particularly within the textile and cosmetic industries, while simultaneously boosting emerging corporate talent across all economic sectors.
The eighth edition of the competition features a substantial total prize pool of €100,000, which will be distributed among the top performing companies in three distinct categories. This financial endowment serves as a powerful catalyst for businesses to continue investing in cutting-edge research, development, and environmental stewardship. Through this initiative, AITEX aims to promote a modern, highly competitive, and sustainable industrial framework capable of navigating the complex demands of the globalized market. The ultimate objective is to encourage strategic investments that enhance modernization, promote ecological transition, and stimulate the creation of high-value employment.

The competitive framework is structured around three distinct pillars designed to capture the diverse facets of modern corporate excellence. The first category is the AITEX Award for Innovation and/or Sustainability in Textiles, which is open to manufacturing companies that have successfully developed highly innovative products, specialized materials, or advanced manufacturing processes. It also honors those implementing robust eco-management systems that significantly minimize environmental footprints or actively contribute to circular economy models. The second pillar is the AITEX Award for Innovation and/or Sustainability in Cosmetics, a category specifically tailored to recognize the rapid evolution and transformative nature of the cosmetics industry. This award targets businesses that have launched groundbreaking formulations, pioneered sustainable packaging solutions, or introduced clean manufacturing technologies that balance commercial viability with rigorous environmental and social responsibility. The third pillar is the AITEX Award for the Best Entrepreneurial Initiative, which is strategically designed to support startups and young, disruptive enterprises established between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2024. This category focuses on fostering emerging talent and accelerating business models with exponential growth potential, corporate agility, and long-term viability, privileges extended irrespective of their primary industrial sector.
The financial allocation within the textile and cosmetic categories follows an identical distribution model designed to reward multiple tiers of excellence. In both fields, the first-prize winner will receive an endowment of €20,000, while the second-prize winner will be awarded €10,000, and the third-prize winner will secure €5,000. For the entrepreneurial track, the prize structure is streamlined to focus intensive support on the top two most promising ventures, with the first prize set at €20,000 and the second prize at €10,000. This targeted financial injection is specifically intended to provide early-stage companies with the necessary liquidity to scale operations, secure intellectual property rights, or advance their technological readiness levels.

The submission window for the eighth edition is officially open, with the final deadline for all digital applications set for September 11, 2026. To ensure a fair and comprehensive evaluation, AITEX has established a strict and transparent assessment methodology carried out by an independent jury composed of leading industry professionals, academic experts, and prominent figures from the institutional and business spheres. The evaluation criteria will rigorously measure the degree of innovation, the technical and financial viability of the projects, their measurable environmental and socioeconomic impacts, and their contribution to long-term industrial modernization. All proposals must represent completed, recently implemented projects or established operational startups, as ideas still in the conceptual or initial ideation stage will not be considered eligible.
Prospective applicants can submit their candidacies directly through the official AITEX corporate portal, where comprehensive guidelines and submission templates are readily available. Participation offers companies far more than direct monetary compensation. It provides a unique institutional platform that grants immense visibility within the national media, elevates brand prestige, and opens direct channels to an elite network of technical collaborators, researchers, and market leaders. Furthermore, the winning companies join an elite alumni network that showcases the best of contemporary Spanish industrial ingenuity, serving as inspiration for future generations of entrepreneurs.
Reflecting on the cumulative impact of the previous seven editions, the historical data underscores the profound success and growing influence of the AITEX Business Awards within the corporate ecosystem. Since its inception, the initiative has engaged a total of 402 participating companies and celebrated 45 distinct award-winning enterprises. This extensive engagement represents a combined financial investment of €390,000 distributed directly into the business fabric, reinforcing projects that champion regional revitalization and technological self-reliance. Over the years, the awards have elevated and brought national prominence to prominent market leaders and visionary organizations, including recognized industry names such as Sepiia, Auxicolor, Vytrus Biotech, Nirvel Cosmetics, Quimsil Siliconas, Lyra Techsolutions, Interfabrics of the Aquaclean Group, Jeanología, Montibello, Babaria, Kimera Technologies, Mediterranean Algae, and Recovo Lab.
As the eighth edition commences, AITEX continues to reinforce its primary operational mission of transferring advanced scientific knowledge and cutting-edge research directly to the private sector. Through its state-of-the-art laboratories, international certification programs, and extensive network of ten global offices spanning fifty countries, the center acts as a vital bridge between scientific discovery and industrial application.
