More than 120 manufacturers and suppliers from 12 countries successfully connected with top industry buyers from Bangladesh and international markets at the 11th Intex Bangladesh Edition.
The 11th edition of Intex in Bangladesh was held from 22-24 June 2023, in Halls 2 & 4 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka.
The Hon’ble Minister for Textiles & Jute, Mr. Golam Dastagir Gazi inaugurated the expo along with special guests namely Mr. Faruque Hassan, President, BGMEA; Mr. Mohammed Hatem, Executive President, BKMEA; Mr. K. I. Hossain, President, BGBA and from India Mr. Vishwanath Agarwal, Chairman, PDEXCIL and Mr. Murali Balkrishna, Jt. Director, TEXPROCIL.
The Hon’ble Minister, Mr. Golam Dastagir Gazi stated, “Intex Bangladesh is a very important show. I have visited them since 2019 and I know it will provide access to high quality products which will take the industry forward.”
The opening ceremony was well attended by senior officials from the Government, heads of industry bodies, diplomats from the High Commission of India, Embassy of Russia, Embassy of Indonesia, the Thai Trade Centre, High Commission of Nigeria, New Delhi; Embassy of Turkey, industry leaders and delegates from several countries as well as members of the press from Bangladesh and South Asia.
On the occasion, special guest Mr. Faruque Hassan, President, BGMEA said, “I congratulate Worldex for their continuous success in organising the fair in Dhaka since 2019. Intex plays a significant role in helping Bangladesh source quality materials from major markets.” Also, Mr. Mohammed Hatem, Executive President, BKMEA remarked, “Intex perfectly understands Bangladesh’s requirements. Exports to India have grown and we look forward to more collaboration between India and Bangladesh through this platform.”
This year, Intex Bangladesh hosted exhibitors from 12+ countries including India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Russia, Belarus, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, Austria and the UK that were spread across two halls at ICCB. More than 75 Indian companies exhibited at the show with two pavilions being formed by The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL) and The Powerloom Development & Export Promotion Council (PDEXCIL) that showcased “Made in India” quality textiles by 40 Indian manufacturers and exporters under them.
Mr. Murali Balkrishna, Jt. Director, TEXPROCIL and Indian Pavilion Organiser said, “Intex offers great opportunities to do business and to increase business specially related to cotton and yarn to support the ready-made garment industry. With growing exports from India we look forward to Intex helping textile companies increase business with Bangladesh.”
Mr. Vishwanath Agarwal, Chairman, PDEXCIL, said, “There are great opportunities to do business between India and Bangladesh. Intex helps bridge the gap and strengthens ties to support business growth between the two countries.”
While the outlook for the South Asian region as a textile and garment manufacturing hub is positive, the way forward is for South Asian countries to combine their strengths and overcome individual weaknesses by aligning with each other and to increase intra-regional trade to help grow exports. Understanding this tremendous potential, Intex Bangladesh was the bridge to help manufacturers and buyers take advantage of opportunities developing in the region and assist in consolidating the region’s position with all other countries by combining their strengths, joining hands and creating stronger business ties under one trading platform.

Yarns (Cotton Yarns), Sky Textiles (Fashion Fabrics), Teejay Lanka (Sportswear and Fashion fabrics), Stretchline Holdings (Elastomeric Yarns), Texperts India (Sustainable Yarns & Fabrics), Krishna Beads (Garment accessories), BangBanson HK Ltd (Seam sealing tapes & waterproof zippers), OETI – Institute for Ecology, Technology and Innovation (Certification & Testing), WGSN UK (Fashion Trends Forecasting), Embodee USA (Product Design Software) and 360tf Singapore (Trade Finance), etc., to name a few, all expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the buyers visiting their booth and enquiries generated at the show.
Intex Bangladesh witnessed over 3080 trade buyers that attended the show from 16+ countries including Germany, Singapore, China, USA, Japan, UAE, Denmark, Hong Kong, India, Egypt, Finland, Netherlands, Italy, Korea, Mauritius and the Netherlands. Some of the top buyers that visited the show were C&A, H&M, Zara Man, M&S, Yagi Japan, ECH Egyptian Cotton Hub, Bruun & Stengade Denmark, Ray Exim UAE, Akij Textile Mills, DBL Group, PDS Group, EPIC Group, Nassa Group, Esquire Group, Ha-Meen Group, Anwar Group, NZ Group, ZXY International, Pakiza Group, Woven B.V. and many more.
This year, Intex’s two day Interactive Business Forum (IBF) Seminar Series was a huge success and was well attended by textile and apparel industry stakeholders. The panel discussions were on ‘Sustainability in the Textile Industry – Reality and Challenges’ and ‘Innovation & Product Diversification ways to move forward for Bangladesh RMG Sectors’ while industry focus seminars were on ‘Sustainable Fashion’ – Talk by WGSN UK and ‘Access to Best Trade Financing Facility through Digital Platform’ by 360tf Singapore. The IBF Sessions presented various alternative opportunities to take the industry forward and delivered high quality market intelligence to help manufacturers gain a competitive edge and offer solutions for better understanding of global developments and their impact on Bangladesh’s textiles and apparel industry. ‘Textile Focus’ magazine – the industry publication of Bangladesh managed the IBF Seminar Series for Worldex India this year.
Intex Bangladesh was very well received by all, confirmed by both Exhibitors & Buyers’ feedback that were positive about all aspects of this fair.
