More than 12,000 professional visitors toured the expo to learn, connect with the industry, and plan for the future of their businesses. Thank you for joining us and being part of this great edition!
In the vibrant heart of Buenos Aires, at the iconic La Rural Trade Center, the curtains fell on a landmark edition of Emitex, Simatex, and Confemaq 2026 from June 2 to 4. This powerhouse trio of exhibitions—organized by Messe Frankfurt Argentina in collaboration with Revista Mundo Textil—once again affirmed its position as the premier platform for Latin America’s textile and apparel industry. Over three dynamic days, more than 150 brands from 109 exhibiting companies converged with over 12,000 professional visitors, forging new business connections, showcasing cutting-edge technologies, and driving forward the sector’s ambitions for greater competitiveness amid evolving global challenges.

This year’s event stood out for its unwavering emphasis on practical innovation, sustainability, and strategic collaboration. As Argentina’s textile sector navigates economic complexities while leveraging its strong manufacturing heritage and export potential—particularly to neighbors like Brazil and Uruguay—the fair provided a vital nexus for the entire value chain, from raw fibers and yarns to finished garments and advanced machinery.
Project Manager Andrea Lippi captured the essence perfectly: “Emitex, Simatex and Confemaq once again demonstrated that they are the space where the industry comes together to do business, discover innovations and build strategic connections. Seeing the aisles full, the machines in operation, the new developments in fabrics, trims and services, and exhibitors presenting their latest innovations confirms the importance of this event for strengthening the entire sector.” Incorporating technology, optimizing production processes, accessing novel materials, and exploring forward-thinking solutions proved essential for boosting competitiveness—and all of these elements converged powerfully at the fair.

Olaf Schmidt, Vice President of Textiles and Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt, highlighted the market’s promise during his visit: “Argentina has great potential for this type of products, so it is essential to have a meeting point for the industry where the latest trends and technologies can be explored, such as sustainability and artificial intelligence.” Fernando Gorbarán, President of Messe Frankfurt Argentina, echoed this sentiment, underscoring how face-to-face encounters facilitate access to information, technology, and partnerships that shape future investments.
Standout Highlights Amplifying Industry Transformation
A debut feature this year, the “Perspectivas” series brought together leading voices—including Claudio Drescher, Angie Chevallier, Mercedes Krom, and many others—for insightful dialogues on industry trends, sustainability, digital ecosystems, and entrepreneurial journeys. These sessions emphasized shared knowledge as a cornerstone for tackling market hurdles.

Exhibitors’ Conferences delivered high-impact technical presentations and product launches. A true milestone was the presentation of “FELPA – Extra-Long Fiber. The Cotton Journey,” spotlighting Argentina’s pioneering efforts in extra-long staple cotton. After seven years of dedicated public-private collaboration involving Halgon SAS, Pato Pampa, INTA Chaco, and Grupo Ritex, this initiative has yielded promising initial commercial volumes—over 10 tons produced—and is advancing toward premium international standards. With fibers exceeding 32-33 mm in length, FELPA positions Argentina to compete in high-value segments, enhancing traceability, quality, and export appeal while strengthening the domestic cotton supply chain.
The immersive Denim Station offered a circular journey through the complete jeanswear ecosystem—from fiber origins to final garment—blending traditional craftsmanship with modern innovations in fabrics, washes, trims, and sustainable design. Representing a significant portion of apparel production, denim’s dedicated showcase underscored opportunities for efficiency, creativity, and eco-conscious advancements.
Sustainability efforts shone brightly under Messe Frankfurt’s global Econogy initiative, part of the expansive Texpertise Network. This program integrates environmental considerations into business strategy, aligning with broader industry shifts toward circularity, reduced carbon footprints, and responsible sourcing—priorities increasingly vital for competitiveness in both regional and international markets.
A Catalyst for Argentina’s Textile Renaissance
Part of Messe Frankfurt’s renowned Texpertise global network—spanning over 60 events across 15 countries and connecting more than 500,000 participants—these fairs bridge local strengths with worldwide innovation. Argentina’s textile sector, with its historical growth trajectory and focus on value-added manufacturing, benefits immensely from such platforms. By facilitating technology transfer, machinery demonstrations, material discoveries, and networking, Emitex, Simatex, and Confemaq empower companies to enhance productivity, adopt AI-driven solutions, embrace sustainable practices, and explore new revenue streams.

As global textile markets evolve—with rising demand for traceability, performance materials, and ethical production—events like this equip Argentine stakeholders to not only compete but lead in key niches. The momentum generated in 2026 signals a resilient industry investing boldly in its future, despite external pressures.
Messe Frankfurt Argentina and Revista Mundo Textil extend heartfelt thanks to all participants, exhibitors, speakers, and partners whose energy and vision made this edition unforgettable. The next gathering promises even greater opportunities to connect, innovate, and elevate the sector.
