Officials from New Delhi Visit Ginning Training Centre, ICAR-CIRCOT, Nagpur

Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) & DG (ICAR), New Delhi, Dr. S. K. Chaudhari, Deputy Director General (NRM), ICAR, New Delhi; Dr C. D. Mayee, Former Chairman, ASRB, New Delhi; Dr. B. S. Dwivedi, Director, ICAR-NBSS&LUP; Dr. Y. G. Prasad, Director, ICAR-CICR and Dr. D. K. Ghosh, Director, ICAR-CCRI visited Ginning Training Centre (GTC), ICAR-CIRCOT, Nagpur on 26th June 2022.

Dr. Sujata Saxena, Director, ICAR-CIRCOT welcomed Secretary (DARE) & DG (ICAR), DDG (NRM) and other dignitaries on this occasion. They were shown different research and development activities being carried out at Ginning Training Centre.

On this occasion, two Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) were signed by CIRCOT for taking up collaborative research work and transfer of technology in presence of the Secretary (DARE) & DG (ICAR). The MoU on collaborative research work for optimisation of ICAR-CIRCOT Kawdi Cotton Opener was signed with the Worlds’ largest Gin and allied machinery manufacturer and exporter M/s Bajaj Steel Industries Limited (BSIL), Nagpur. Another MoU was signed with M/s Superb Hygienic Disposal India Pvt. Ltd. (SHDIPL), Nagpur for technology transfer, manufacturing and marketing rights of ICAR-CIRCOT Trapezoidal Shaped Rapid Burning Briquette Based Crematorium. The new crematorium requires about 55% less expenditure as compared to traditional wood-based cremation and contributes in preservation of environment and solving global warming issues.

Dr M. K. Sharma, Whole time Director & CEO, BSIL, Nagpur and Shri Atul Marotrao Zoting, Partner, SHDIPL signed the MoUs on behalf of their respective firms while Dr Sujata Saxena, Director signed on behalf of CIRCOT.

On this occasion, the Secretary (DARE) & DG (ICAR) expressed happiness and congratulated Dr. S. K. Shukla, Pr. Scientist & I/c. of GTC and its staff and the firms signing the MoU and conveyed his best wishes for further success in these endeavours.
